I do take responsibility (and cry often about it) of not being strong enough to fight his demons and threats, and not knowing how to protect them from the bitter life their father then created for them and I, but I can only ask them for forgiveness in my shortcomings....and pray that these struggles made them strong for the bitter and unforgiving world ahead.
With this said, I am going to start a Photo Album Series, so that they will be able to see with their own eyes many of the sweet and adorable memories I have of them and their lives when they lived with me. I am thankful that I was able to have a short time with them...to show them LOVE to best way I knew how.
I don't post these past fun photos to make them feel 'bad' about their lives today, by showing them the happiness we had when they were small. The fact that their father and I unknowingly began to live lives without a moral compass, that eventually broke apart our cute family, may be WHY much of this happiness is gone today...but I show them these photos because I want them to remember HOW happy life CAN be, AND I believe CAN be theirs ANYTIME they choose.
No matter my situation in life, thru sadness and pain, I did my best to choose to be Happy....and these photo albums will show this.
It is to REMIND my beloved children that they too can have this happiness at anytime they choose.
That raising a righteous family through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which includes God and Consequences, ( which is what Bernd and I did our first 10-13 years of knowing each other and being married under a Covenant to live Godly lives).... is where REAL Eternal Happiness can be found!
(and certainly was found for us)
I've decided each week I will add a new album page and my descriptions, to this Blog, as I am able.
Some pics are out of date (or order) due to their misplacement and finding them at later dates, but the majority of them go in chronological order.
Each page will come with a small explanation of what I can remember of them and the surrounding circumstances, so that more info will explain the settings of the pictures.
In this fist picture, you see the Hatch Family! Howard, Marjorie with all their kids...except David, the youngest, hadn't been born yet. I believe this was taken in 1974 or 1975. I am the one in the red dress. This was taken at Christmas time. (see our white flocked tree in the background?) This living room shot was in the house my father built when I was three. It was on Mountain Ridge Rd. up in Indian Hills on the North side of Provo in the well to do hillside. It was a fun house to grow up in my first half of my childhood.
The second photo is of Bernd, me, Jordan, and Austin at the fun and famous Medieval Times in Buena Park (near Anaheim and Disneyland) California. We would love to go to fun outings. I added this family photo to our first album page as a way to start this album since it was a 'family photo'. Austin was about 4 and Jordan about one. I was preggers here with Michael, so this would make it about Spring of 1994. (we were living in Manti Utah at the time and were in CA on vacation.)
As you see, Austin was swimming in a sea of stuffed animals that Aunt Melissa (my sister) had at her house when she lived in Yorba Linda and we had her babysit Austin. She and Rich would spoil Austin.
The picture of Jana was of my 'best friend' growing up in Indian Hills as a young girl. She and Julie Young lived across the street from each other down the street from me and I would spend lots of time with them around 4th and 5th grade, shortly before my family moved to Hawaii when I was 11. (Provo)
The middle pictures are of Bernd and I dating. The first one is attached to a business card where I happen to get Peter Vidmars autograph that day at the mall. WHO would have thought that some day (in RSM) Rudy and I would become good friends with Peter in CA. at Church during 2007-2013!! The small picture is one of Bernd and I at the Orem Mall at the Photo Booth goofing off when we were dating in 1984. I think I was 17 years old.
The other middle pic. is of Bernd in front of a LDS Church building. During college our Church ward took photos of us, so that we could take these photos (along with our heartfelt Testimonies of the Book of Mormon), and we could attach these to a free copy of the Book of Mormons to pass these out to friends, family or strangers when we felt prompted to do so.
The bottom photos are of Austin, when he was 1 and 1 1/2. They are professional ones from the store. I took him to get professional ones at 3, 6, 9, months, one year, 18 months, 2 years, 3 years.....etc. I did this with all my children. These were two just lying around and so I put them on this 2nd page of the...
