Our favorite vacation spot was Maui Island for several years in a row. We went several times to the "Maui Banyan Condos" since they were so fancy at a great price for a whole week or two. However, this time, since I was under a lot of stress over; all the gossip and crazy polygamy talk, polygamy frenzy lives of most of our friends in the small town of Manti, our marriage was suffering, it was a cold Winter and we decided that since we had the money, we would spend 6 weeks in Hawaii visiting 3 islands and just relaxing to get away from the whole Manti Winter scene. I we packed up and off to the Hawaiian Islands we went. Bernd could work over the phone so it all worked out OK.
Below, you see me, Austin and Jordan enjoying a walk around the swimming pool at our condos during the first day on our vacation. We had just arrived and I am wearing a beautiful Plumeria flower lei. (Plumerias are my FAVORITE flower in the whole world. They smell AMAZING. ) I've actually made many of these Plumeria leis myself when I was 12 and lived in Hawaii for 6 months with my family. I made and sold these leis for $1, for fun, at a big Hotel in Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. .... (close up below) ...
It was a glorious morning and I have always really liked this picture. It reminds me that I was happy and I LOVED being there with my two amazing little angels from Heaven. You also see a picture of the inside of our cute condo on the same morning we were at the pool. I will have to make a close up of this one too.
Below on the front of page 5, you see our first dinner in our Maui condo. We are eating FRESH fish which we had bought at the local market which comes from the ocean across the street! YUM.
Below this, you see that we drove up to the famous Haleakala Crater! We loved that drive and went every time we visited Maui. I believe Austin really loved it too when we went with Lindsey. It could be really COLD when visiting in the month of Jan. since it was soooo high up. It would freeze up there! The vegetation all along the drive was so fantastic! Below, you see that Austin, Jordan, and I would jump out of the car from time to time along the winding road up the mountain to take some scenery shots. I LOVE the one of Austin in front of the Pineapple plant, showing us how amazing this fruit is growing. Close ups below....
Then, as we drove back down to the lush Valley floor, it got much warmer and we ended up back at the Kamaole II beach, across the street from our condo.
These are some adorable pictures of my two small and precious boys. Good times for sure. ♥
