They have a cute train that goes through the Sugar Cane fields nearby. It is a short 20 min. ride back and forth, but it was so beautiful and scenic.
We also visited the Whalers Museum at the Whalers Village nearby. Do you see my two sweet babies enjoying themselves? (Enlargements below)
On the back of this page, you see me in our condo timeshare on the Big Island of Hawaii. We had left the island of Maui and headed over to this big beautiful island, called the 'Big Island' since it is the largest of all of them. This island is my father, Howard's, most favorite. Years later I learned that it is Rudy's favorite island too. There were lots of things to see on this island. Lava flows, waterfalls, and huge cattle farms and lush green fields for miles and miles, not to mention the lush vegetation everywhere.
We owned a timeshare on this island south of Kona, and spent a week here on this island during our vacation. It was so nice....other than this is where Bernd and I began to argue a bit due to the fact that when he would talk about our good family friend, and newly divorced friend, Lori Pinckney, he would defend her, talk highly of her, and I began to get upset and suspicious!
The lava fields on the South side of this large island was spectacular and we were able to get very close to this hot molten volcanic mater!
