My husband and I traveled to Illinois for a court hearing regarding my son Jordan. When the hearing was held, I was ecstatic and happy to see him again. I had nothing but good and loving feelings for him and still do.
It is a shame that at times family members don't have the same feelings as the others, but I love him all the same.
This obligation turned out to be quite a wonderful blessing. As usual, my husband turns all bad things to good, just like our Heavenly Father quotes in the scriptures. He is definitely a man of God. What a wonderful man, I love him so!
These pictures below are of the different places we traveled to.
To begin with, we were invited to stay in our very own house (all by ourselves) by an important, respectable LDS Church member, and city leader in the Champaign area, (who, by the way, actually has been honored by the Illinois Governor with his very own State Holiday, in Illinois, for his life-long dedication, service and leadership!)
That was quite an honor to meet, and be treated so kindly by such honorable, respectable, and friendly people!
After the hearing, a couple of days later, we took our rental car and headed off to Nauvoo. What a wonderful experience!
The History involved of the LDS Church, Joseph Smith history and sites, and of all his brethren was astonishing. Their homes, their town, the Mississippi River (some of it frozen over) and all the beautiful snow everywhere, I mean we were in Heaven with all of it!
While there, we were invited to stay in the Historic Nauvoo Hotel in a beautiful huge suite, which was beyond high expectations! Not to mention, we were treated like royalty! Everyone was super duper friendly, extended warmness and service, and were extremely helpful.
Our Historic LDS Temple visit, inside and out, was quite an incredible experience, to say the least. We even found out that my ancestor Jeremiah Hatch settled in Nauvoo with the Mormon saints on the outskirts of this city on a farm before his son's (Orrin Hatch my great great great grandfather being one of them) went across the plains to join the Mormon battalion to fight in the Mexican war before settling in Utah. I found this all out at the Lands and Records house on the Nauvoo Mormon home tours. That was exciting!
After a few days there, we took off to Chicago (the windy city). We stayed in a luxury modern, High-rise named the Dana Hotel and Spa, where we stayed in a suite with incredible views! I was so grateful and happy. We were treated like VIP's The food...the entertainment...the excursions....the skyline....well, you get the idea, (don't miss the pics).
After that, we drove to Chicago O'Hare and flew away back home.
I am so happy that my sweet husband cares so much for me and my children. He always has an open heart and home for them, even when they just don't know it. If it wasn't for him, I would be lost, and miserable (I am sure), but he always tells me
"don't you worry sweetheart, God meant this life for you, always remember 'Iron sharpens Iron'. Only women of God are prepared for the afterlife with this type of care."
He is so right.
I wish everyone who reads this, and sees our pics,
