Tomorrow, Monday, is Memorial Day.
Most business'es are closed and school is out.
Many people love to remember their dead ancestors also on this day to reflect on their lives and how they play a major part in who we are today. That is why my ex and I (when we were together) used to remember and pay tribute to our son Michael over the many years that he has been in the Spirit world.
This weekend our family had plans on going out of town for the long weekend, but due to work and bad weather we decided instead to kick it here at home.
Last night we went to go see the new movie MIB III (Men in Black). We saw the 3D version.
It was an excellent movie, with a great story line and it had lots of feeling to it also. It was much better than expected. We really liked it. Alex even saw lots of his school friends there last night. Afterwards we had loads of fun playing in the nearby Arcade and eating out.
Fun day, over all, yesterday and that is just the beginning. We have loads more planned today and tomorrow.
That reminds me, last Saturday we took my MIL (mother in law) and BIL, SIL, and all 6 of us, to a famous Cuban restaurant called Felix were they serve the most delicious Cuban food I have ever tasted. It was beyond good! The food was different, fresh and fantastic! We had a blast eating at this very crowded ~ very authentic place. The owners are good friends of the Acosta family since this restaurant has been open over 30 years and the Father who owned it before the current owner son, used to know the Acosta's very well and they used to come here all the time.
Alex and I LOVED the food! It is so different than American food, and so tasty! Cuban's can be the most family oriented, giving and kindest people on the planet ...but do NOT cross them....they can also be the most serious! ...and No they are NOT Mexicans, or Indian in any way, just because they speak Spanish. They are as white skinned as any European, having blonde hair and blue or green eyes. My husbands father and Grandparents had the blonde hair, white silky skin, and green eyes.
I noticed that this Cuban restaurant is near a University, so there were and are lots of students here also. It seems like every time we have been there, it is very crowded, every minute of every day they are open! The location, atmosphere, and food can't be beat!
We had a great time last night... and last Saturday!
