My Uncle, Dell Hatch, recently past away. He was my dad's favorite and closest brother. Our families spent lots of our fun family vacations together. They are some of my closest cousins. Dells youngest son, Derek, is married to Heidi Hatch, the famous news reported for Channel 2 News here in the State of Utah. She and I are good friends. I will post some photos below of the funeral. The pics are of Dell and Joan's children which are the ones still alive. The blonde woman is Dells oldest daughter, Michelle, and the largest boy is his son, Cory from his first marriage. Otherwise, they only have the 3 sons left, of Joan's children, alive. Bernd and I used to go visit these relatives often when we lived in St. George.
My Aunt Joan is the one with white hair. Dell was cremated. My dad, Howard, has expressed his desire to be cremated too.
Recently, my co-worker Don, the Archeologist and Curator of the Museum, quit his State Park job at FISP, and so I am the only one who is running the entire large Gift Shop and Museum, mainly alone, these days. Yes, I have twice the amount of work...but I love it. I manage the whole thing! The actual manager of the whole State Park is not there very often so I get to run or make a lot of executive decisions for the entire Park and feel like I actually am running this beautiful Utah State Park most days..... along with the Maintenance Supervisor, Jim, who is so kind.
Between the 3 of us, we seem to be all 3 equally managing this amazing State Park. (although I don't get the same pay as they do.....haha) However, I am getting lots of experience out of this, and am enjoying most of it, other than my feet and back are killing me after almost everyday of working so hard :)....and sometimes the manager, Kevin, is difficult to work with. We have events, school groups, celebrations, dedications etc. etc.. (Maybe one day I will run my 'own gift shop'?? ♥)
We just recently finished building a large beautiful shed at home. This will hold all of our workshop or working items, while we begin building a new laundry room. I am super excited. I also just got a new awesome wood burning stove, which will go in my front room. I LOVE these things!!
Alex, is about to graduate his Junior Year! He got all A's this semester. He is very proud of himself. We are too! He will soon go off to Especially For Youth Camp, and is VERY excited for it. It is one of the MOST fun, spiritual growing, exciting Camps in the Nation and he is such a lucky boy to go to it. ~ He is such a good young man.
My dad, Gramps, is at the Hospital right now getting tests done for bleeding in his stools. I am here with him. I learned that he is OK, but that was a bit of a scare. It was just internal bleeding hemorrhoids. We are thankful it was nothing too serious. I love my dad and hope he lives a long time. ♥
