In Sacrament meeting (1st hour) Bishop Smith had Alex come up in front of the whole Ward and announce this special event. He then read a beautiful quote that I (Mom) wrote for him to read to everyone which said: "Alexander is a bright, intelligent, out spoken young man. He has always had a love for people of all age groups and gets along with everyone he meets. He has 5 older brothers who he loves and they really love him.
He has an incredible amount of Faith, and has been through a lot of trials so far in his life, yet he always has a smile on his face and sees the good in everything. Many times he sees things for the way they really are, and is not afraid to speak his mind.
We are so happy that Heavenly Father has him with us and that we have a chance to raise him righteously and honorably, so that he will have the privilege to share the gospel with others.
He loves his mom and dad very much. His dad, Brother Acosta, thinks the world of him and is always doing his best for Alexander. We have an abundant amount of fun times together.
Alex tells us he is very excited to become a Deacon and to receive the Aaronic priesthood.
We love you and are very proud of you Alexander!"
Bishop then asked Alex to tell the congregation his favorite Article of Faith. Alex told them number three (3). He did VERY well and I was super proud of him.
Then in Deacons quorum Rudy, Bishop Smith and Brother Weyland gave the priesthood and ordination. Rudy also gave Alex a beautiful blessing. They both did so well. After this I (Mom) gave my testimony of my feelings about the Gospel.
Later this day, we spent it at the Ocean. It was gorgeous! We went out to eat at a super nice Thai restaurant.
It was a super heavenly and special day. Alex is such a GREAT example to us and all his friends. We are so grateful.
