Youth Fall Festival Dance

Alex had a fantastic time at the Church Youth Halloween Fall Festival Dance last night.

He went as a Nerd...but decided at the dance that he was Alfalfa from the Little Rascals. He did a great job on his costume. Pics below.

He came home saying that most of the LDS girls are so pretty and super nice.

He met alot more LDS kids who go to his school. He said that he danced EVERY dance and had a blast.

He is growing up!
Tonight he is dressing up as the same thing and going around the neighborhood with his friends. He's taking his pillow case.

We all went to 'Trunk-or-Treat' at the Ward on Saturday. It was a blast as usual.

I dressed up as a witch..(simple)
Rudy went as the Disco king. (easy peasy)
Alex went...as...well....He just could NOT decide. I suppose he is at that stage where he wants to dress up...but then again he doesn't want to either....then again, he does.
You get the picture.

So, he threw on last minute mix match of items and went as....well, a black hooded pirate costume.
I wanted to make something for him, but you know him, he would not have that.

When we got there I had brought a crock pot of Vegetarian Chili along with about a dozen of other women.
There was hot dogs, chili, salad and corn Frito's. Everyone ate while the kids played games.
Alex helped the smaller children at the different game stops. (he loves to tend the younger kids)0

After this, everyone headed outdoors to their spooky cars to pass out candy and toys from their trunks! Some cars were decorated very well.

Lots of fun costumes paraded by, as we handed out our treats. I passed out Avenger boxed candy while Rudy passed out the plastic toy 'spider' rings (which were a big hit with all the kids).

Alex came home with a big bag of assorted candy - even with some big candy bars!

It was a fun, fun night! We live in such a beautiful community!!
(I wonder what Austin and Jordan did? I wish so much, they would call me to tell me....)
Oh, We even saw the movie 'ParaNorman' this past weekend....that was a cute movie.

My brothers daughter, Amanda Hatch, took 3rd place in the Miss Utah Teen Pageant !!

Austin, Jordan, Jacob, Andrew, and Alex's cousin is so beautiful...inside and out.

We knew she would be a runner up....being so pretty and all. She is such a sweetie.

Sooooo happy that she won!

Halloween is coming soon!!!

YIPPEE!! Halloween is coming soon! We are going to have an awesome weekend, full of fun Halloween activities!

Can't wait until more of my boys join us! They would be having a blast here!!!

We just want so much to share our fun times with all our boys. (As long as they are respectful of course. No one likes a sour lemon, lol)

We went to see the movie Brave 3D at the two dollar movie theater. It was a very cute movie about mending broken relationships with your parents.
Then we went to get some professional photos taken for Christmas afterwards.(I will not post photos of the photo shoot since I am saving those for Christmas)
After this, Alex tried out the fun JUMPING ride nearby.
Then our sister took us out to dinner at Olive Garden. YUMMY!!
It was a fun day.
We also love hanging out at the beach on slow quiet days, while Alex is at school and the weekend.
Here are some of the fun foods I've been making in the kitchen lately.
The other day we stopped off at the Chino Airport to check out some of their cool planes!
Disneyland is a great inexpensive 'date night' for Rudy and I.
Here are some pics (& vid.) of the fun we've had lately. Their new Cars Land is so adorable!!
There is ALWAYS something to be so grateful for...even in this harsh economy!

Alex has a blast at his 1st School Dance!!

Alex had a great time with his friends at his first School dance!

He was super excited to go to his first Intermediate School Fall Dance. It was from 6-8pm. I stayed for the Parents meeting while they had the party in the Gym. I later picked him up when it was over.

Alex was breathing so hard and says he and his friends had so much dancing and playing with all the activities there, that his sides ached with laughter!

It was nice to see that he had so much FUN!!!

I love this beautiful painting! Greg Olsen is a wonderful artist, one of my favorites!

My niece Amanda Hatch (far right) is on the Miss Utah Cover Photo ~ Since she is one of their contestants.

What a doll, we are proud of what a beautiful daughter my brother Brad and his wife Erika have raised, (inside and out).

Best of luck to her. She is so pretty, she is sure to place.

We had a Ghoulish time at the Haunted Mazes, Magic Shows, and Ghost Town of the famous Knott's Scary Farm Night !!!

Alex was super excited to attend this fun Halloween Spooktacular event like we did last year. Could only have been topped by having Jacob and Andrew with us! Do you think they would have liked it here?

He misses you!

I told him I would take a Photo of him holding up his Birthday sign he made just for you and Post it here, so that someday you would see it!

We miss you too!

We wanted to send you a gift....but we don't have an address for you!!

Won't you please email us one, so that we can send you something nice??

We hope you have a TERRIFIC and Special Day!

Hopefully someday soon we will take you out for a future Birthday dinner, so that we can show you just how much we have always cared!

In the meantime, we have Alex here with us and we will just have to spoil him instead.
We took him to Frankenweenie 3D Movie after school and then took him to the mall to buy him new clothes....in honor of YOU!

You know, at Gramp's house Alex had a dog named "Sparky"! And he got run over by a car and died. Just like the movie Frankenweenie.

The boy in the movie reminded me exactly of YOU though. He was sensitive, smart, loved his dog, and .....well, Just reminded me so much of YOU !!! You are such a sweet and tender-hearted boy! I still cry on occasions when I think about how I could NOT buy you a dog when you were little....I tried and tried to do it and hoped it would pan out for you.... but the circumstances just didn't allow it.

I hope that someday you will get a dog of your own. Maybe in the future I can still buy one for you...would that be OK?

We miss and love you very much!

Just know that we thought of you ALL day today and we hope that you had a FUN day with your friends or girlfriend...even if you have to study hard all day at school...we hope that tonight you have some good, clean fun! (lol)

20 YEARS AGO

20 Years ago I was in labor with my 2nd baby boy! He started to come today on October 10th, but finally made his first appearance around 12:30 a.m. tonight on the 11th of October in 1992!

It was an exciting evening. I had just finished eating at Taco Bell just down the street from here on Santa Margarita Blvd. in Mission Viejo a block away from my 1st house when I went into labor!

I came home to the house with Austin and Bernd and we hung out in the Jacuzzi spa outside the backyard which is on the corner and faces this big intersection of SM Blvd and Margarita Blvd. but up a small hill away from traffics view.

I hung out in this above ground Jacuzzi tube for a few hours while we waited for the nurse mid-wife Joyce to come to our home this evening 20 years ago.

She came soon, but with a new girl I had never met, but she seemed nice enough. She was training to be a mid-wife herself and needed the practice.

I then labored more over the next few hours and like I said, my baby boy came only a few (6 1/2) hours later!

He had a hard time breathing and after he was pinking up and looking good, I had a problem and had to be rushed off to Saddleback Memorial Hospital in an ambulance after a nice Priesthood blessing to save my life, since I almost bled to death. The home birth was wonderful, my personal problem of hemorrhaging was not so nice...but it all ended well...AND that's what is important!

This is and was a beautiful time of year, especially in awesome Southern California.
I super LOVE the fall, so this was such a nice time to have a new baby boy in our home!!!! (right before the holidays)

We named him Jordan, and he was SO adorable, especially with his big dimples and perfect body!

There is NOT a day that goes by that I do NOT think of him! I think of him EVERYDAY and miss him terribly.
I am sure he rarely thinks of me, since I am such a disappointment to him. I've heard that children grow up just NOT knowing how it feels to be a parent full of love for their children and then have them taken away and they just don't know how it feels if it happened to them.
I hope he never has to feel that terrible pain or anguish but I guess he just will never know my sorrow....(tears)

That's OK...I just want him to have a happy and successful life...that is what is MOST important.

Tomorrow I will wish him, the boy who is half me, a Happy Birthday, here on my Blog.....
Since I do not have an address on him...or even know how to get a hold of him.
I thought I had an email on him...but I don't think it works....but I will never give up on him.

Hopefully his heart will soften for me, in the future...You never know!!!

Until then I just dream about the wonderful wonderful day 20 years ago when I went through the most terrible, horrible, gut wrenching pain and suffering, but survived to be blessed with one of the most handsome, smart, loving, gorgeous miracles a God could ever bless a woman with...a super son named ....
