Welcome to Utah.
One giant playground.
It's October 1999 and Jordan is turning 7 years old. 🎂️🎈🎁
I threw him a party in our new backyard there in St. George, Utah. We invited his neighborhood friends and brothers and had a fun party with games, cake, gifts, and food.
Below, you see Jordan and friends playing musical chairs, swinging with his friends, and opening his gifts.
On the back of this page, you see baby Andrew eyeing Jordan's two cakes. Jordan blows out his candles after we sign Happy ♪ Birthday to him.
Little Jacob is eating some yummy cake. It appears that Jordan got a new bike!! (and a rock tumbler, among other gifts)
Anyway, it appears that baby Alexander slept through it all, since he was only 3 weeks old and I was still recovering from a C-section AND a recent move. I don't know how I did it really!!
(don't EVER move to a new house a month before, or a month after giving birth, it is a nightmare!!)
So, it turned out to be a fun birthday celebration, there at 2294 Englemann Place, in St. George Utah Oct. 1999.

Second page in Album 8.
You see only 5 days after Alexander was born, we moved to a new house a few blocks away. (that is a long and CRAZY story by itself) This time, this rental house was without a pool. Our goal was to work on the mountain cabin up above Zions, where we planned on living full time.
We take baby Alexander out into the sun at our new yard, for some vitamin D. So good for his liver.
Baby Andrew gives his new baby brother a big kiss on the forehead. So adorable. ♥
Andrew was still a baby himself, but now had to take a back seat to Alex who demanded a lot of attention and was a lot of personality, when Andrew was a quiet child. I always felt bad about this.
On the back side of this page, you see that Jordan had his 2nd grade photo taken at school. Also, again Andrew is puckering up to give his baby brother a big kiss. Alexander was so tiny!
Andrew is still carrying around his baby bottle that he still uses. Also, you see him peering over the patio wall, without pants on. This little guy was still being potty trained and it was easier for him to run to the potty this way!. (couldn't resist this shot of his adorable baby bottom...lol )
The last photo is one that Bernd took of me and new baby Alexander. Jacob quickly popped into the photo since he LOVED being in front of the camera. Always made me laugh !! This photo has always been one of my favorites ♥

There is this cool cat I know....and he goes by Christian Jacob....
Someone, I love, was born on the sunniest day of the year and truly IS 'my Sunshine'! 🌞
♪ ♫ Happy Birthday Christian Jacob 🎂🍭🎈🎁💝
Can hardly wait for him to come home, so I can give him a party again.
Here, below, is another 'Chris' that is totally awesome too!!!
Here is a cute little video of Utah set to the tune of Beach Boys' Kokomo and features some of the wacky town names in the state of Utah.
Don't forget 'Hatch, Utah'....the small town in Southern Utah that my great great grandfathers brother settled and my great great grandfather had a few of his daughters there so they lived there for a few years too.
When my oldest son, Austin S Holler was a baby, many people told me that he looked JUST LIKE the baby character in the newest movie out called "Look Who's Talking" about a baby whose mind was being read on the film.
A cute blonde baby and the hilarious story of his thoughts as you spend the day with this child. Very handsome and adorable toddler played this part on film, so that was a great compliment to Austin.
WELL, I guess it IS Austin who is talking now' !!!
My son, Austin, has graduated with his Masters in Computer Science, from University of Colorado, Boulder in Colorado. May 11, 2018
I want him to HAVE IT ALL ~~
When your world is brightened and blessed by the joyful presence of a child....Your heart becomes more full of love than you could have ever imagined....As the months and years pass, memories are made that are more precious and valuable than anything...they touch your very soul ...
But....When the child is abruptly ripped from your life and you are alienated from them...The pain and sadness is indescribable and crippling at times....The waves of heartache roll through your spirit with such dreadful force....
To any parent reading this... Please don't ever keep your child from a family member that they have a close bond and loving relationship with... It's cruel, unfair, and just wronger than almost anything else anyone could do to another person.
We, Brother and Sister Acosta, just finished a wonderful dinner with two very fine, handsome, intelligent, funny, kind and respectful Missionaries!!
WE JUST LOVED THEM ♥
They were so much fun to talk to and share a dinner with.
We also got a nice Spiritual message from them, which we appreciated so much, and which we loved too ♥
Can't wait to have them back again !
Thanks for sharing these fine young men with us, to brighten our lives. They remind us of our own awesome Missionary.
Prayers for you and your families ♥
My intelligent, caring, awesome cousin, Chris Raleigh (Howard Hatch's nephew) posted an amazing post on Facebook a few days ago.
I copied it and pasted it below ♥
For every Insta Post with smiling faces and sun drenched beaches, there are a thousand real life posts that only get posted in the halls of heaven. Social media deletes the days of depression which are filled with tears because dreams literally slip between our fingers. On those days there is One Person whose paper posts don't feature a beach, but rather a shore, where the sun is often hidden by the storms of life. On those deleted days, there is one place that can never be "snapped."
There is a Holy House where the storms of life get calmed by His matchless power and grace. In this house the only mention of a "feed" includes a story about lambs.
As one of his lost lambs, I praise His Holy Name in His Holy House, as often as occasion permits. There is only one name under heaven which offers hope during our deleted days, that is the name of JESUS!
New album, full of fun family photos!
Photo Album Series 8 is a very large album. It begins with the birth of Alexander Gabriel Holler in Sept. 1999.
Alex was a surprise baby for all of us, but still very welcome in my heart. Because his placenta was previa, he was scheduled to come by Cesarean Section 3 weeks prior to his due date in October 1999 at the St. George, Utah hospital with Dr. Chad Lunt.
However, due to early bleeding, he came 4 weeks premature.
He was tiny, but healthy! Below, you see lots of photo's of me just before surgery (C-section) and then afterwards with Alex out of my tummy and into my arms.
You see that his brothers came to visit us in the St. George Utah hospital to check on mom and new baby brother. This birth may have hurt like HELL...but I was so happy to have a new angel in my arms. ♥
Close ups below...
Finally home after a few days at the Hospital, we put baby Alexander out in the sun to make sure he is getting his Vitamin D for a healthy liver and no jaundice. His pacifier is almost as big as his face! Do you see how tiny his arms and legs were!? Thus we called him 'Sticks' for the first year...lol. So cute ♥
So all the Holler boys jump into the guest bedroom bed with mommy to check out the new baby a few days later in the morning. Jordan is all interested in this new human being. Austin is being a goofball as usual. Andrew is a happy clam. Jacob is just trying to get his spot on the bed. You see my knee on the edge of the photo on the edge of the bed. I was staying in this bedroom because it had a bathroom nearby and was on the first floor of our two story house so that I would not have to climb stairs while recovering. I was in SO much pain since I went off ALL pain killers only two days after birth so that I could ensure that Alex would not get any through my breast milk. St. George Utah Sept 19th 1999 I LOVE my boys!!!!!
The next several pages in Album 3, are ALL about Bernd and I at our new apartment called Baker Gardens in Placentia, CA. and lots of photos of me being 5, 6, 7 months preggers with our first bundle of JOY, Austin S Holler.
This was all new, so each day or week was exciting.
Although heavy, tight, and most often uncomfortable...I was so proud of my little pot belly holding such a miracle. So much so, that I would squeal in delight when thinking about it. My whole soul would tingle, is the best way I can describe it. I loved when the tiny baby inside of me, would move, stretch, or kick ♥
I was very excited about our blessing coming soon and Bernd was just warming up to all of it by about now!!! (now that he could feel someone inside of me kicking when putting his hand on my tummy)
We start with the back side of page 23, below. Bernd, myself, with Leni and Gunther went to Solvang, CA. about one hour North of Ojai, CA. where they lived at the time. This adorable European Village is full of bakeries, chocolatiers, restaurants, and adorable one of a kind shoppes. We had a relatively fun day trip, touring around Central California with my in-laws.
(Wine Country and so beautiful)
This last page shows that Bernd had been buying and selling used cars to make money. He was pretty good at it. He would buy a used car, fix it up, let me drive it for a few weeks or months, until it got sold or he would buy a new used car for us to drive. Sometimes we had 3-4 at a time.
It was fun to drive a different car all the time. It was fun to take a picture of my belly and the newest car we had purchase at the same time so that we could record all the fun.

Me, Lisa, with Leni (Bernds mom) at Solvang CA. When I look at this photo it reminds me of how Leni was very distant towards me. When posing for a photo, she could barely stand to be near me. She treated me like I was only a girlfriend who she would soon be rid of, if she could help it. Based on what Bernd would tell me that she would say of me...I knew this was true. It always made me feel unwelcome and sad. I was always so nice and respectful towards her regardless. (I think she was jealous of me taking up Bernds time and she couldn't let him go) wink.
Me, Lisa, 5 months preggers with baby Austin. After a day at the tourist town of Solvang CA. we stopped off at Pea Soup Andersen's. A famous soup restaurant in Central California. Their food was OK. I didn't see anything too special about it. Just a tourist trap, I suppose. I notice that during this photo and many, I liked to turn to my side so that I could show off my big baby belly. I was SO proud of it ♥
Me, Lisa, standing in our new apartment living room. We were on the second floor of this 3 story building. (Apt. # 214) Our living room went out sliding glass doors to a small patio balcony. I am showing off my baby belly again! This white jumper is the one I made in high school. This cute couch and love seat set we bought for $600 in Orange CA. Spring 1989 - Placentia, CA.
Bernd and I must have set the camera on timer and taken a photo of both of us on our new couch in our new living room. The new apartment where we planned on our first baby being born AT HOME with a Midwife. I was super excited. We look SO young. I remember feeling (at 22) like such a baby, having a baby! Still was super excited!! ♥ I see Bernds wedding ring. (He once lost it at a hot spring when shaking his hands with the HOT water, but then found it again! Have him tell you the story)
Here I am, 6 months pregnant with baby Austin. I am just relaxing and watching TV in our living room. My belly looks so flat when lying on my back. Bernd may have been super hyper, domineering, bossy, and energetic, but I was just laid back, niave, calm, easy going, and always relaxed about life) lol ~Placentia, CA. 1989
